FAQs
Do you make all your products?
I hand pour every single candle in my production studio in Brooklyn, NY. I also customize and label each product. Jars are bought in the USA.
What type of wax do you use?
I use soy wax which is a vegetable wax. Soy wax is more a natural alternative than paraffin wax which is more commonly used to make candles. Soy wax is made from the oil of soybeans while inexpensive paraffin wax is made from petroleum, oil shale, or coal. Soy wax is the environmental friendly choice.
What are your wicks made of?
Wicks are all natural braided cotton.
How long do your candles burn?
4oz candles : 10+ hours
9oz candles : 40+ hours
12oz candles: 75+ hours
All with proper care.
What is the best way to care for my new candle?
1. When your candle is lit, allow for the melted wax to create a full "melt pool" this means the wax reaches all sides of the jar completely before putting it out. This will prevent the candle from tunneling or burning unevenly.
2. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch after each use or when it begins to mushroom. This prevents excessive soot from accumulating and contributes to a even burn.
3. To get the best and longer use of your candle burn in 4 hour intervals.
4. Before lighting your candles, ensure is is on a flat and steady surface. Keep away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
Why do candles differ in color?
Natural soy wax starts off white in color. The fragrance blends that are used range from clear to dark brown. Therefore the fragrance may change the color of the soy wax producing an off white to yellowish color.
